Estimates only. Actual sizing depends on starting currents (motors, pumps, air-cond) and site conditions — we confirm with a free site inspection.
How the calculation works
Generator size (kVA) = total load in kW ÷ power factor (0.8), then we add 25% headroom so your genset runs at ~75–80% load — the sweet spot for diesel engines. Running a genset badly under-loaded causes wet stacking and glazing; oversizing wastes fuel. The fuel estimate uses typical consumption of ~0.3 L per kVA per hour at 75% load.
Quick reference: kVA vs typical monthly diesel
| Genset | Load @ 8h/day | Fuel / month | Cost @ RM2.15/L |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 kVA | 75% load | ?1,350 L | ?RM2,900 |
| 60 kVA | 75% load | ?3,240 L | ?RM6,970 |
| 100 kVA | 75% load | ?5,400 L | ?RM11,600 |
| 250 kVA | 75% load | ?13,500 L | ?RM29,000 |
Diesel price assumed RM2.15/L (subsided). See our full harga genset Malaysia 2026 guide and fuel consumption chart.
FAQ
Should I size up for air-cond compressors and motors?
Motor starting current can be 3–6× running current. Our 25% headroom covers typical soft-started motors, but DOL-started pumps or compressors may need more — WhatsApp us the equipment list and we’ll size it properly.
Is it cheaper to rent or buy?
Rental wins for temporary sites, events and standby under ~6 months. For daily prime power beyond a year, buying usually pays back. We do both — see generator rental and generator purchase.
Do you deliver outside Klang Valley?
Yes — we deliver and service nationwide including Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Kuantan and East Malaysia.
