Returns & Refunds Policy (Malaysia)

This Return Policy applies to purchases from Mega Genset Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“we”, “us”, “our”) on genset.com.my and our official sales channels in Malaysia. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below. This policy is written for typical machinery & electrical equipment sales (e.g., generators, controllers, alternators, parts).

1) Eligibility Window

  • Change-of-mind (stock items only): request within 7 calendar days of delivery. Item must be unused, in original packaging, and re-saleable.

  • Dead on Arrival (DOA)/Transport Damage: report within 48 hours of delivery with photos/video of the issue and packaging.

  • Defects under Warranty: covered per the product’s manufacturer/our warranty terms (repair or parts replacement first; refunds are not the primary remedy).

Note: Installed, commissioned, fueled, wired, or run-in equipment is not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

2) Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom/special-order builds, made-to-spec sets, modified units, clearance items.

  • Electrical/electronic parts once unsealed (ECMs, controllers, sensors, harnesses).

  • Consumables (filters, oils, belts, gaskets) if opened/used.

  • Software licences, calibration files.

  • Items with missing serial numbers, altered hour meters, or damaged security seals.

3) Return Process (RMA)

  1. Email genset@genset.com.my or WhatsApp 012-9689816 with order no., serial no., issue description, and photos/video.

  2. Obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) and return address. Parcels without RMA may be refused.

  3. Pack securely in original crate/box with all accessories, manuals, and free gifts.

  4. Ship prepaid and insured. Risk of loss remains with the buyer until received and inspected.

4) Inspection & Outcomes

  • On arrival we perform functional and cosmetic checks (including data/ECU logs and hour meter).

  • If approved:

    • Change-of-mind: refund minus shipping both ways and a 10–20% restocking fee (to cover inspection, test, repacking).

    • DOA/confirmed defect on delivery: we repair/replace at our cost; if not feasible, we issue a full refund.

  • If rejected (signs of use/mis-application/damage): item will be returned to you at your cost.

5) Refund Method & Timeline

  • Refunded to the original payment method in up to 3 business days after inspection approval. Bank fees, merchant fees, and SST (if applicable) on services are non-refundable.

6) Warranty vs. Returns

  • Warranty is repair/replace per the written warranty card/quotation (labour, parts, and turnaround depend on model).

  • Warranty excludes: improper installation, unsuitable site conditions (ventilation, exhaust, earthing), dirty fuel/water ingress, overload, power quality issues, unauthorised modifications, and Acts of God.

  • Site attendance/diagnostics outside Klang Valley may incur travel charges.

7) Freight Damage Claims

  • If packaging is damaged on delivery, note it on the carrier’s POD and photograph before uncrating. File with us within 48 hours so we can assist carrier/insurance claims.

8) Business Purchases vs Consumers

  • For B2B (company-to-company) purchases, this policy governs.

  • For consumer purchases, your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) remain unaffected.

9) Title & Risk

  • Title passes upon full payment; risk passes on delivery/collection. Returns transfer risk back to us only after we acknowledge receipt in good order.
